Theme: No true righteousness without the Word!

Memory Verse:For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God(Rm 10:3).

There can be no righteousness of  God, without the word of God. This what our memory verse is saying.

Without the words of God dwelling in our hearts, there is no light in our spirit. It is the entrance of the words of God into our hearts and spirit man that gives LIGHT:The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple(Ps 119:130). Hence, when Jesus, the Word of God (John 1:1), came in the flesh into the world, he introduced himself as the light of the world (John 8:12; 9:5)

Without the word of God dwelling in our hearts and spirit man, believers of the gospel of our Lord Jesus are not better than unbelievers.  They tend to  establish and follow their own righteousness, just as the unbelievers. This is simply because, there will be nothing to convict them when they go wrong. It is the words of God dwelling in our hearts that convict us and leads us on the path of righteousness, hence King David did everything possible to hide the words of God in his heart: Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee (Ps 119:11).

When God delivered the promised land to the children of Israel, he warned them not to think it is because of their righteousness(Deu 9:4-6).

Without the Word of God (Jesus, Truth, Righteousness), every man is nothing in the sense of eternity!  Without the truth and grace in Jesus,  we have no life in our spirit. We are who we are just by the grace (unmerited favour)  in Jesus.  Whereas the law came through  Moses, grace and truth came through Jesus (John 1:17). The word of God says, Jesus who knew no sin, became sin for us so that through our active faith in him, we are declare righteousness: For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him (2Cor 5:21).

I am convinced that full understanding of the righteousness of God is lacking in the Church (the body of Christ). The word of God says as many as are led by the Holy Spirit are sons of God (Rm 8:14). This leading will be difficult without the words of God in our spirit, no matter how often we ”go to church”.  The Holy Spirit can only lead a spirit that has the word of God. The spirit of  man is the candle of the LORD (Prov 20:27).

This understanding is very important in the church more than ever, in view of the times we live in. The devil and his cohort capitalise on the ignorance of believers a lot. There is so much spiritual  ignorance in the church today. The Scripture says:” My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge”Hosea 4:6.

The book of proverb says: There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death (Prov 16:25).

Having accepted Jesus as your Lord and Saviour, you need to show commitment. There is need for devotion, dedication, passion, zeal with someone you are in love. Are you in love with the Truth?  Are you in love with the Way? Are you in love with the Faithful Witness?  Are you in love with Jesus? Then spend time with the Him! One of his names is the  Word of God (Rev 19:13).

To have increasing spiritual knowledge, requires total fear of God, and  spiritual training in the word of God: ”Train yourself to be godly”(1Tim 4:7-8 NIV).

PRAYER: There is someone reading this message , may you receive the grace to spend time with the Word in Jesus name, Amen!

We emphasize that the POWER in the blood of Jesus has set us FREE from bondage, and that where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty (2Cor 3:17). Jesus is the Truth(John 14:6). The words of God are spirit & are Life(John 6:63). We allow the Scriptures to answer all questions. We create the awareness that Jesus has made all true believers, kings and priests unto God and his Father(Rev 1:6). In addition, as a spiritual body, we also empower unbelievers, using the principles of our Lord Jesus Christ with the understanding that when they witness the power of the living God, they will exalt his holy name (Psalm 46:10). One major objective of MOW is to increasingly improve everyone’s spiritual understanding! Spiritual ignorance is a major cause of human destruction(Hosea 4:6). Indeed, many children of God have gone into captivity, because they have no knowledge(Isa 5:13). Please note that the MOW is an initiative and the spiritual arm of Abasi Health Foundation (AHF).
