Letting The Scripture Speak For Itself

The Word of God is Living, of course The Word is God. It is God in principle and one of the major features is that it speaks, declares what has been, what will be and what is happening. The Word is latent with potent power to deliver both physically and spiritually to the glory of God. Below are established truth declared in scriptures

The Eternal Son

“In the beginning was The Word, and The Word was with God and The Word was God” (John 1:1)
‘And he was clothed with vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God’ (Rev 19:13)

“Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have.” (Luke 24:39)
Sinless Impeccability
He was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin (1 John 3:5)”He hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him’ (2 Corinthians 5:21)
Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth” (1 Peter 2:22)
“…the prince of this world cometh and hath nothing in Me” (John 14:30)
The Lamb Slain…my Saviour
“…the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. (Revelation 13:8)
God will provide himself a lamb (Genesis 22:8)

He is brought as a lamb to the slaughter (Isaiah 53:7)
Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold…But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot: (1 Peter 1:18- 19)

“Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high:” (Hebrews 1:3)

The Basis for Freedom

—John 8:32; 36
–All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.
JESUS (word of God) explains being ‘BORN AGAIN’ (John 3:3-8), emphasis on verses 5 & 8
He’s Coming Again
I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.” (John 14:: 2- 3)
“For the Lord Himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.” (1 Thessalonians 4:16,17)

The Righteous Judge

“Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.” (Hebrews 4:13)

“Because he hath appointed a day, in which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.” (Acts 17:3

Sin

All stand guilty before God
Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: (Romans 5:12)
Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me. (Psalm 51:5)

Therefore to him that knoweth to do good and doeth it not, to him it is sin.” (James 4:17)
The consequences of sin are death and eternal judgement

Hell from beneath is moved for thee to meet thee at thy coming: (Isaiah 14:9)

The promise of God to all who put their faith in the Lord Jesus
“And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more” (Hebrews 10:17)

Eternity

If we could fathom in some small measure what eternity really meant, it would shake us. Where will you spend eternity?
It has been said that eternity will never be spent but we will have to spend it, in one of 2 places – heaven with the redeemed of the Lord and hell with the children of disobedience.
Where will you spend eternity?
The body is decaying, beset by sin, but man possesses an eternal soul.
And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. (Genesis 2:7)
For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; (Isaiah 57:15)
God hath set the notion of eternity in men’s hearts. They may suppress it but they have a God given sense of eternity which they cannot deny. The word for world in the following verse is age or eternal ages.
“He hath made everything beautiful in His time: also He hath set the world in their heart” (Ecclesiastes 3:11)
“Blessed be the LORD God of Israel from everlasting, and to everlasting. Amen and Amen.” (Psalm 41:13)
“But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall He come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.” (Micah 5:2)
“For unto us a child is born, unto us a Son is given: and the government shall be upon His shoulder: and His name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.” (Isaiah 9:6)

Salvation

“For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (John 3:16)
“He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.” (John 3:36)
“Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12)
The words of the Lord Jesus to Nicodemus, a deeply religious man
“Ye must be born again” (John 3:7)
Comes to man through believing the Gospel
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth…” (Romans 1:16)
The appointed time to accept God’s gift of salvation is now
Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation (2 Corinthians 6:2)

The result of trust in the Lord Jesus Christ
“In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation…” (Ephesians 1:13)
Comes through hearing and believing God’s word which reveals the Lord Jesus as the only Saviour
“And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus” (2 Timothy 3:15)
It is provided by God’s grace as a free gift to all who trust in the Lord Jesus Christ
“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” (Ephesians 2:8,9)
Consequences of rejecting God’s salvation are unthinkable
“How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation…” (Hebrews 2:3)
Salvation has been provided through God’s grace, not willing that any should be perish
“For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men…” (Titus 2:11)
“The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.” (2 Peter 3:9)

Water Baptism

The Lord Jesus Himself was baptised
“And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water…” (Matthew 3:16)
Baptism is ordained by the Lord Jesus
“Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:” (Matthew 28:19)
It’s an act of obedience for believers and precedes fellowship
“Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.” (Acts 2:41)
“But when they believed…they were baptized, both men and women.” (Acts 8:12)
Performed by full immersion under water
“…and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him.” (Acts 8:38)
Holy Spirit Baptism
For boldness, supernatural manifestation, signs & wonders
Jesus Himself was baptised in the Holy Spirit:
‘How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him’(Acts 10:38)
But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth (Acts 1:8).
It was prophesied by the Prophets:
‘And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions’(Joel 2:28).

The Power of Gratitude and Praise

Praising God is a powerful spiritual warfare Acts 16:25 And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them. 26 And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one’s bands were loosed.
We are to give thanks in all circumstances
