MOW:TS – In Christ, God expects all His children to be PERFECT (Bro Ben Bassey)

Ministry of the Word (MOW):

True Spirituality (TS).

Improving our Spiritual Understanding.

Theme: In Christ, God expects all His children to be PERFECT.

Memory  Verse:

Beloved,

As children of God, working and walking with God in Christ, in perfection is real and a great necessity.

When God called Abram (Abraham) as recorded in the book of Genesis, he was instructed to walk with God in perfection:

“And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect “(Gen 17:1).

The internet based free encyclopedia (Wikipedia) defines perfection as

“a state of completeness and flawlessness.”  Perfection has to do with excellence, purity, uprightness, integrity, holiness, flawlessness or complete lack of error or mistake in our thoughts, words, attitude and behaviour.

There is a popular saying that: “To err is human”! However, this is not scriptural. What is in the Bible is that in Chris Jesus , God expects his children to be perfect as He himself is perfect as per our memory verse above.

Many believers in God in Christ Jesus may be trying their best to obey the word of God, but without perfect or complete obedience, God is never pleased. Blessings of God are for those who diligently obey his words( Deu 28:1-14).

The word of God says:

If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land ( Isa 1:19).

Many people believe that holiness or perfection or excellence is not possible with man. I find it difficult to understand that God will ask man to do the impossible. The Word says:

“But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy ( 1 Pet 1:15-16),

The truth is that no man can be holy or perfect by his own spirit, without the empowerment of the Holy Spirit. The Bible says when the enemies of Daniel examined him from head to toe, they could not find a single fault, mistake or error because the Holy Spirit, the embodiment and carrier of excellence, was in Daniel:

“Then this Daniel was preferred above the presidents and princes, because an excellent spirit was in him; and the king thought to set him over the whole realm”( Dan 6:3).

The word of God says, true believers shall receive POWER when the Holy Spirit comes into them (Acts 1:8). As a believer, if you have not yet been baptised in the Holy Spirit, please, do everything possible to be baptised, by surrendering fully to Christ, and in humility asking God to grant you favour. Believe me, the Christian life without empowerment of the Holy Spirit is most likely a miserable life. It is also good to know there are levels of our being filled with the Holy Spirit. Every one should aim to have overflow of the Holy Spirit (Ps 23:5).

The challenges you go through in life are ways God uses to prepare you and lead you to perfection. The Scripture says while on earth,  Jesus himself learnt obedience through what he suffered and was made perfect:

“Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered. And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him” (Heb 5:8-9).

So, always try to see something positive in the challenges you are going through.  The challenges are necessary requirements to get you to your destiny.

It shall be well with you . Have a Spirit-filled week in Jesus name. Amen.

Prayer: There is a reader of this message, who lacks clarity regarding the ministry of the Holy Spirit, receive the Holy Spirit and the grace of perfection in Jesus mighty name. Amen.

Yours in Christ, Bro Ben Bassey, Iyobosa, & the MOW family.
