Theme: Be Aware of Distraction.

Memory  Verse:

Beloved

In your walk with the Lord, you are bound to face distractions in so many ways. Distractions could take different guise. The primary purpose of distraction is to take your focus away from JESUS. Without knowing what to do, fear, discouragement, stagnation and failure can easily set it.

When Jesus went to the house of Mary and Martha, the Bible says whereas Mary was focused on Jesus, sitting at His feet to hear the Word, Martha was distracted (Luke 10:40) as she was more concerned with service and house work. She actually felt she was the one doing the right thing, hence complained to the Lord about her sister Mary, until Jesus reminded her that compared with other life needs,  only “one thing is needful” (Luke 10:42).

“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you” (Matt 6:33).

Remember Peter, how  he began to walk on water towards Jesus, and suddenly started to sink due to distraction, when he took his focus away from Jesus to look at the boisterous wind ( Matt 14:22-33).

Believe me, even in the Church, there are spirits of distraction, manipulation and seduction, flying around. Without knowledge, it is very easy to become a prey. Recognising contrary spirits in others is a specific gift every true believer should ask the Lord for, if you are to fight a good fight.

Resist the devil and he will flee from you(James 4:7).

PRAYER: For every one reading this message, may you receive the grace of spiritual discernment in Jesus Mighty Name. Amen
